  4. Select a Weebly subdomain (free option) for example yournamephoto.weebly.com
  5. Click on the Pages tab at the top of the screen to add or change pages. Make sure you add a Blog style page.

  7. Replace default images with your own, or remove them altogether for a clean simple look.
  8. For more directions check out 'Weebly Help Center'

When you create a website you need to think of user experience and purpose of the site. As a designer you want to give your potential clients a taste of your design style from the second they land on your page. Your style should be incorporated into the site design as well.

Components your website need to include are:
  • A landing page (which might be a splash image or your portfolio)
  • Work (aka Portfolio)
  • Contact/about page
  • Blog

Here are examples of professional artist's websites:

Assignment (In Google Classroom):
You will be writing your own ‘About the Photographer’ for your website. Look a examples on professional photographers websites for inspiration. It should be a paragraph or two, five to ten sentences in length.

My name is Mrs. Olden and I will be your teacher this year. I have prepared a syllabus for you and it is available online at the class website.

You will want to memorize and/or bookmark this link. I will post assignments there as well as resources and a gallery. Absent? Check here & Google Classroom to see what you missed.

Tonight your homework is to bring your parent or guardian to the website, find and review the syllabus and digitally sign it. You AND your parent or guardian must both sign the form. (Hint: hover over the appropriate course and click on > Syllabus)

Everything you will need to be successful in the class is provided however, I highly suggest having your own digital camera with manual control of ISO, aperture and shutter speed. Adobe Lightroom & Photoshop for computer is available at an educational rate of $9.99/month if you would like to access these programs at home.

If you have any questions or problems, please email me at LauraOlden@vistausd.org
