Stop Motion PSA

2/22/2013

Picture
You will be working in small groups to make a Public Service Announcement for KVHS using stop motion Techniques.

We have watched the old and tired PSA's on KVHS, time to do it our way. In our PSAs we need to get our audiences' attention while still delivering our message. Think of some commercials you have watched, maybe from this past weekend's Superbowl .. which ones stand out & why?

Today you will be working in your small groups

2/22- TODAY'S DIRECTIONS:
Once your group decides on a general idea for Clean Campus or Character Counts it is time to create your storyboard. Remember to be creative (and school appropriate- no violence, blood or gore) and think of unique and original ways to get your peers attention and still convey you message.
READ: How to create a storyboard
You will be creating drawings (6 or more) that tell us the story and what your PSA will look like. As a group you will create one set of drawings in Photoshop. Using letter size document (8.5h x 11w) @72ppi, landscape (horizontal) orientation for each drawing.  Save the drawings in a New Folder > Stop Motion Storyboard. Each drawing should consider angle, framing and location (basically how close are you, are you shooting direct view, from above or below, etc). You must have a completely planned and well thought out storyboard presentation and present to the class before you can shoot your final PSA. Here is a Sample.
Work together and create 1 presentation per group, insert the drawings each on their own slide in a PowerPoint presentation. Make sure to have a title slide with the title and your names. When finished Turn in to V: > McKay > Digital Art > Period > Storyboard Presentation

Your group's presentation needs to be finished by the end of class today. Groups will present next class.

Your group may choose to work on one of these campaigns:

Keep our Campus Clean
or
Character Counts | What is Character?
  • Trustworthiness
  • Respect
  • Responsibility
  • Fairness
  • Caring
  • Citizenship
If choosing character counts, you may illustrate one particular pillar of character, or introduce the 6 pillars of character.
